例：”Overall, there was a significant reduction in the blood pressure of more than 60% of the patients.”

然而，您應該要使用現在式來敘述表格、數據和圖表以呈現您的結果。

例：”Table 4 shows the bold pressure levels of patients before and after administration of the recommended dose of the drug.”

在討論章節的部分，通常使用過去式來總節所有的發現，但是當您在闡述結果或是敘述結果的重要性時，則需要使用現在式。通常討論和結論章節經常會有現在式和過去式的混用情況。

例：”63% of the children demonstrated an elevated level of at least one risk factor, indicating that are children with obesity are at an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases.”

注意上述的例句前面的部分是在敘述結果，因此使用過去式，而後半段是說明結果的意義，需使用現在式。
